Dr. Richard Mullins B.V.Sc

Veterinarian
Richard has been at Lane Cove since taking over the practice in 1971. He later acquired the Hunters Hill Veterinary Clinic following the retirement of the only vet in Hunters Hill. He is now seeing the 3rd generations of some of the original families, as well as other clients who still return with each new pet.

Richard still finds euthanasia the most difficult part of the profession, but feels privileged to be able to end suffering. His greatest satisfaction comes from seeing pets recover after a serious illness or complicated surgery. Away from the practice, Richard relaxes by catching barramundi on his annual holiday to Australia's Top End, and by following the Sydney Swans.

Dr. Winnie Han B.V.Sc
Veterinarian

Winnie graduated from the University of Sydney with Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 2007.  She joined Lane Cove Vet Hospital in mid-2009 after working at a practice in Central Coast. Winnie's childhood dream of becoming a vet began with her first pet, a tiny chickling on her first day of kindergarten which then quickly followed with numerous birds, mice, rabbits, cats, dogs, goldfish and turtles.

She enjoys climbing to the challenges of both medical and surgical aspects of veterinary science.  Her special interests includes Soft-tissue Surgery and Emergency Medicine.  She has a Sheltie who is busy looking after the 2 cats she has adopted.  Winnie hopes that in 30, 40 years, she will still be working as a vet and enjoying it just as much!

Dr. Anabel Howe B.Sc, B.V.M.S, M.R.C.V.S

Veterinarian

Anabel graduated from Murdoch University in Perth in 2001 and has worked in several practices both in Sydney and overseas. She enjoys all aspects of small animal general practice, especially surgery, and has a soft spot for Golden Retrievers and Boxer dogs.

Anabel has returned to work at the Lane Cove Vet Hospital in 2009, after spending some time working and traveling overseas and in Australia. She currently lives in Sydney with her fiance James.

Jes Harris-Ward

Veterinary Nurse

Jes joined the Lane Cove team at the end of 2008 whilst studying a Certificate II at Taronga Zoo. After growing up in the country where she had a whole menagerie of animals ranging from cows, dogs, parrots, horses, goats to pigs (one of her favourites!), Jes loves that she gets to work with animals every day at the Lane Cove Vet Hospital.

Although she would love a dog, Jes has decided on more unconventional pets such as her very spoilt pet rats, Ratty and Peaches. Still being a country girl at heard, Jes loves being outdoors in her spare time and also exploring the many things Sydney has to offer, such as shopping!

Rebecca
Weekend Veterinary Nurse/Receptionist

Rebecca only recently joined the Lane Cove Vet team. She is currently in her second year of a Bachelor of Veterinary Science at Sydney University. Rebecca owns a very lively Kelpie-cross puppy called Ella who keeps her very busy! Rebecca enjoys caring for all animals and aspires to become a small animal vet after completing her degree.

  Isabelle de Lavaulx
Kennel Hand

Isabelle has been working at Lane Cove Vet since July 2006. She is studying Veterinary Science at the University of Sydney and is currently in her second year. Isabelle loves working as a kennel hand because it gives her time to give plenty of love and attention to the hospital patients and boarding animals, as well as a chance to hear about the different cases that come in from week to week.
Isabelle has a black, long-haired domestic cat, 'Mignon' who rules the household!

Outside of work, Isabelle plays soccer for the Sydney Uni Women's Club and also loves downhill skiing, arthouse films and all types of music.

Sophie Barwick
Kennel Hand
Sophie recently started her first year of a bachelor of animal and veterinary bioscience at Sydney University. She joined the team in 2007 and has immensely enjoyed the opportunity to gain experience working in the veterinary field. She hopes to perhaps one day work with pets, mainly dogs, with behavioral problems. Away from the veterinary clinic she relaxes by walking her two dogs and playing with her two cats and several hermit crabs.

Sandy Dunning

Veterinary Nurse
Sandy joined the team at Lane Cove in September 2009, whilst studying Certificate II in animal studies at TAFE. When she has finished Certificate II she intends to go on and do Certificate IV in veterinary nursing. Sandy has grown up around animals and has always had pets such as cats, dogs, birds, mice, rats, fish and rabbits at her family home.

Unfortunately now she has moved out on her own and living in unit where pets are not allowed so she gets her fix at work each day. She can't wait to move where she can own a dog again.

Nick Wimble

Veterinary Nurse
Nick is a mature age student about to embark upon his long time dream of studies in veterinary science at Sydney University. He joined the Lane Cove veterinary team in November 2009 and particularly enjoys the relaxed but dedicated atmosphere of the practice.

After University, Nick hopes to use his veterinary skills in Europe and as a volunteer wildlife vet in Africa. Later he hopes to own his own practice.
