Dr. Richard Mullins B.V.Sc

Veterinarian
Richard has been at Lane Cove since taking over the practice in 1971. He is now seeing the 3rd generations of some of the original families, as well as other clients who still return with each new pet.

Richard still finds euthanasia the most difficult part of the profession, but feels privileged to be able to end suffering. His greatest satisfaction comes from seeing pets recover after a serious illness or complicated surgery. Away from the practice, Richard relaxes by catching barramundi on his annual holiday to Australia's Top End, and by following the Sydney Swans.

Dr. Anabel Howe B.Sc, B.V.M.S, M.R.C.V.S

Veterinarian

Anabel grew up in Perth and graduated from Murdoch University in 2001 and commenced practice at Lane Cove. Anabel has travelled widely and gained extensive experience in Europe, the UK and Australia. She returned home to the Lane Cove Veterinary Hospital at the beginning of 2009 and enjoys all aspects of general small animal practice, especially surgery, and has a soft spot for Golden Retrievers and Boxer dogs.

Anabel lives locally and away from the practice she enjoys running, cycling, food, wine and travel

Rebecca
Weekend Veterinary Nurse/Receptionist

Rebecca is more than half her way through her degree in Veterinary Science at Sydney University. Rebecca owns a very lively Kelpie- cross puppy called Ella who keeps her super busy. She enjoys caring for all animals and aspires to become a small animal vet on completion of her degree

Sandy Dunning

Veterinary Nurse
Sandy joined the team at Lane Cove in September 2009, while studying Certificate II in animal studies at Tafe. She has since completed her Certificate II and started Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing by correspondence through Tamworth Tafe. Sandy has grown up around animals and has always had pets such as cats, dogs, birds, mice, rats, fish and rabbits at the family home. Unfortunately she is now living in a townhouse where pets are disallowed so she gets her fix at work. She can't wait to be able to have a dog again.

Elissa Cox
Veterinary Nurse

Elissa joined us at the beginning of 2010 after working in the thoroughbred breeding industry for many years. She has a Diploma in Equine breeding, a Certificate 11 in Animal Studies and a Certificate 111 in Business Administration. Elissa grew up with numerous dogs, fish and the odd [very odd] duck and enjoys working with animals. She currently manages a budgie who refuses to let her sleep in on weekends.

Nick Wimble

Veterinary Nurse
Nick is a mature age student also studying Veterinary Science at Sydney University. He joined the Lane Cove Veterinary Hospital in 2009 and enjoys the relaxed but dedicated atmosphere at the practice. After university Nick hopes to use his veterinary skills in Europe and as a volunteer wildlife vet in Africa. Later he hopes to have his own practice.

Melissa Bridges

Kennel Hand

Melissa joined the staff at Lane Cove at the end of 2009 and has loved it ever since. She is currently in the second year of a Bachelor of Advanced Science degree at the University of Sydney and aims to transfer into Veterinary Science in the near future. Mel has very hyperactive cat, Aero. She also has a Dalmatian named Lilly who lives at her mother's farm in Bringelly. At the farm there are plenty of horses, cats and another dog to keep Lilly company and Mel visits whenever she can.

Katie Scott

Kennel hand , Trainee Vet nurse

Katie is studying Certificate II in Animal Studies as stepping stone to a certificate in Veterinary Nursing and eventually a career as a vet after enrolling in Veterinary Science. She is passionate about caring for animals and enjoys learning from the vets and other nurses.
